Perfect Porridge
How to make your perfect dairy free porridge

Having a very active lifestyle and job make a good breakfast a daily essential. Being Scottish I completely fit the stereotype of porridge for breakfast. It is packed with fibre and keeps me fueled up to lunch.

I would like to share with you all my dairy free porridge tips.


  • 1 cup of chunky organic oats
  • 1 cup of rice milk
  • 2 cups of water
  • a pinch of salt
  • topping of choice (I choose chia seeds, hemp seeds, banana blueberry's, raspberry's, coconut flakes and honey)


Add the oats, water and milk to a pan and bring to the boil. As the mixture in coming to the boil add your salt, this will help to bring out the sweetness of your toppings. Now bring your mixture to simmer for 15 minutes, stirring as continuously as your arm will allow for the creamiest texture.

Pour your mixture in to a bowl and add your toppings, I choose to add an extra splash of rice milk. Have fun and play around with flavours here. One of my favourite treats is chia seeds, hemp seeds, coconut flakes, banana, blueberry's, raspberry's and honey
